The Commercial Operations team, which includes both affiliate distribution and ad sales, is expanding rapidly and is looking for a commercially-minded, forward-thinking individual to help support this growth through strategic data, insights and analytics.

A+E Networks UK are looking to recruit a Head of Business Development and Analytics EMEA  with the primary function of this role will being supporting the commercial team by assessing and recommending new business opportunities; tracking and managing sales performance; and providing consultative sales insights and strategies for the business. 

The role hollered will play a central role across both ad sales and distribution in developing commercial policy and best practices.  Responsibilities will include territories across the EMEA region including the UK, Poland, Benelux, Scandinavia, CEE, Middle East and Africa.

The Commercial Operations department includes both distribution and ad sales functions of the organisation. Primary responsibilities for the role holder will include: Providing data, research and strategic analysis for the commercial team to help inform business decisions and territory approach; Recommending new business ideas based on data-supported business cases and sound financial modelling; Developing best practice for senior management – from market score cards to synchronised pacing and tracking information across multiple markets and revenue streams; Centralising sales reporting and performance analysis; Performing rigorous competitive and industry analyses to ensure A+E Networks UK remains proactive and current in its thinking and approach and supporting the VP Commercial Operations in development of goal-setting and remuneration.

Affiliate Distribution responsibilities will include: Supporting development of commercial policy and frameworks for platform pricing, rights, and product offerings; analysing performance and help inform forecasting through subscriber reports, market data, revenue trending and platform intelligence; serving as key part of deal negotiations by providing data and insights; recommending new and alternative distribution opportunities based on financial and strategic rationales; working with Senior Director HR & Business Operations and VP of Commercial Operations in the design and implementation of remuneration package and attending relevant industry events and trade shows that build knowledge base.

Ad Sales Responsibilities include serving in commercial controlling capacity to help set pricing, monitor revenue and enhance client targeting; utilising ratings, inventory management information, traffic information and competitor pricing information to set CPMs in region and pan-regionally; helping to  support and structure the negotiations of agency framework deals through data and research; developing an approach to balance needs of multiple sales points in optimising revenues; identifying key advertising relations for expansion opportunities; tracking sales performance of internal sales teams and third-party rep firms and tracking key clients and categories to identify opportunities for growth, loss in share of wallet, and other general trending.

You will possess outstanding analytical expertise; excellent communication and relationship management skills; excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills and the ability to persuade others at all levels of an organisation to influence decision-making.

You will also have: significant independent judgment and rigorous analytical capability; strong experience in strategy role or sales controlling function in multichannel television industry; be fluent in mechanics of trading in advertising and affiliate sales and be fluent in qualitative and quantitative audience research
