06 June - US Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy dies after assassination

At 12.15 am, in a corridor in the Ambassador hotel, Sirhan Sirhan fired eight times, hitting Kennedy once in the back of the head and twice in the body. He also injured five others. As he lay bleeding, Kennedy asked if everyone else was alright. The inspecting doctor sent him to one hospital and he was rushed to another when the severity of the head wound became clear.
